[TWCC #1] - Fairy Home!

Good day, Wizards! I'm here with our very first post for Tati's Wondrous Castle Creations! For this week's post I will be showing you how to create your very own Fairy Home, or Fairy Ring! This cute addition is perfect for any castle with a lot of greenery, or a magical forest you may have created. It also uses Castle Magic, which I feel makes it more alive! I also felt for our first post, I would make something a little easier and less overwhelming, as our future projects will certainly be a wild ride! Anyway, curious to know how I made it? Read below!

Build Information -

Before we get into HOW to recreate it, let's go over what you'll need, how much it'll cost you, the difficulty and the estimated time to complete this project...

This project is rated as "Easy"; there will be less hectivity, and the overall build isn't time consuming or stressful. It also does not use many items or much castle magic with a lot of advanced effects.

Total Time Spent: This project took me no more than 30 minutes.

The Process -

This project was surely a fun one, and I'm excited to show and tell how YOU can create it yourself. An important note, I was a little short on this project due to the Bazaar having literally nothing. I really wanted to add more plants but there were very little options. Luckily, if you love to craft furniture you'd be in luck! You can also take your own creative liberties for this project - add other unique plants/items, or maybe expand and create a fairy village!

All right, let's get started! First, you will want to take your Wild Mushrooms and create a circle. It doesn't have to be perfect, nature isn't! This is optional, so you could skip this step if you would like to opt out on the fairy-ring.

Next, take the Tree Stump and position it in the center of the Fairy-ring. You can use Advanced Movement if you want it to be more precise!

After your stump is in it's desired position, it's time to add your Snapdragons. You can use any flowerbed you'd like, or even mix them, but I really liked the pink contrast. Also, I would suggest enabling exact movement so you don't have to keep turning your character as the default movement makes items move the directing your character is. In the image below, you can see where I have circled exact movement. Also, turn the sensitivity all the way down to make it easier!

This part is a little tricky, but it's pretty easy! You'll want to place the flowerbeds close to the stump, and go into advanced movement. Once you get the flowerbeds near the stump, I believe it took me 4-clicks of the forward, or left, option to get them under the stump. This part is a bit trial and error, but keep trying until you get them in your desired location! If you get stuck to the point your item cannot be moved anymore, save your movement and then go back into the UI. You can then move the item further!

Now with that settled, you should have something that looks like this! I did go back and adjust the stump because it was off center. I also spaced the mushrooms out a bit further. Feel free to edit this part as much as you'd like, as the next steps are a little more difficult!

Grab some Make Smaller Castle Magic treasure cards from Babbage, and your Leaning Boulder. Place down the boulder closest to where you'd like to place it, then put down a Magic Player Detector. Click the detector, and within the interface make sure to select the "Make Smaller" card, then at the bottom for the trigger item select the boulder. Now, when you exit out of the menu, the boulder will shrink! For maximum decrease in size, you'll need about 3 of these treasure cards each put into their own player detector. When you're in the castle magic UI, there is a tab for the radius of it's effect. I suggest clicking "Large" so when players get to your creation, it'll already be shrinking to size! You can also use timers and such, but I'm a simple girl.

With all that settled, your boulder should now be pretty small! You could avoid this altogether if you manage to find smaller rocks and such, but I haven't found any. Also, during this time, feel free to add plants around your stump! I didn't show this step as it's pretty self-explanatory when using the guide on how to move items. A neat tip if you're using the same plant, make that plant go underground by 2-3 clicks! Not all plants are the same size, so it adds some realism with your creation.

With potted plants, you can also push them underground with the "Down" option in the Advanced Movement UI to get rid of their planters. So cool, right?

Here's the...frustrating part. Due to the boulder being absolutely massive, this part adds a little difficulty to this creation. Once you enter housing, the boulder will appear it's normal size! Ahhh! Don't panic, just breathe, and take it step-by-step. I would also suggest moving other items, because if you put the boulder in the wrong position it will engulf the other items and you'll have to view your attic and remove the item that way. The way I did this was to gauge where I want to advance move my boulder to. Place it in the direction you want to move it, then take it click-by-click - entering in and out of housing to see where your boulder is. Once it's in the desired position, add back your plants. Now, the boulder will be extremely huge once again, so take it step by step in getting those plants in the proper position! I wouldn't use a lot of boulders, though, or you'll be in a real pickle!

During this step, place your Arched Door and Lantern in your desired location(s). I added a "Shrink" treasure card to the lantern to make it slightly smaller. Place the rest of your player detectors around the stump as shown below. You can add other creativities on the placement of these, or add other effects! You should have something like this...

Add your Magical Cards! In the detectors behind and beside the stump, place your Magic treasure cards. Now, make sure to select the player detectors themselves in the Castle Magic UI to make them spawn where you placed the detectors. The one nearest to the door I added the Summon Pixie card. For the pixie, I selected the door, so when she spawns it looks like she's greeting you! How cute. Don't forget to rotate the detectors to the direction you want the spell to be facing! There will be an arrow indicator letting you know where it would be facing.

You're all done! When going near this, it'll spawn magical particles and the sprite! I really enjoyed making this, it was really fun and added such a nice flare to my castle. If you recreate this, please drop a screenshot in the comments section! I would love to see the creative liberties you could do with this creation!

Thank you for reading, and I am super excited to continue this project. Until next time! If you'd like, you can join our Discord server to keep updated on when a new post will go live. You may also check our Twitter as we will be posting updates there too. (:
