Valentine's PvP Event!

Hello Wizards! It's great to be writing to you all again. I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday, celebrating your loved ones and cherishing them. But...who says it has to be over just yet? Why not continue to spread that message of love and friendship until the very end of the month? I'm happy to announce that for this month's Event, we'll be hosting a friendly PvP, or Player vs. Player, tournament in Wizard101! This will be our first tournament we've ever put together, so we're all very excited.

Event Information -

There are so many wizards out in the spiral with amazing skills and dueling experience, but the question lingers: who can battle it out with the best of 'em, and win? Who can rise to the challenge and take the gold (or in this case, an awesome bundle and tons of crowns)? From now until February 27th, everyone across the spiral is welcome to enter the TCS Valentine PvP Tournament that we will be hosting by the Practice PvP Kiosk!

We will ask each wizard who would like to participate to submit an entry under this post to enter the competition stating: your wizard's name, level, and school that will be entering. All applicants MUST provide a screenshot of your wizard and their name in the screenshot within your post below, taken in-game. Each wizard will then meet a TCS staff member (names listed below) at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time on February 28th in Wizard101. The Arena in Wizard City, Realm Greyrose, will be our meeting place. You will friend one of them, and they will register you as present for the tournament! We'll have a list of everyone's name and a tournament bracket made, and match everyone with their appropriate opponent. Which person battles another is entirely decided by us, but we promise that the matchups will, of course, be as fair and balanced as we can make them!

However, and this is very important: The tournament will be for wizards that are level 130-140 only. We apologize to the many wizards out there who are not within this level range and would've liked to participate. But you are more than welcome to spectate and have fun watching with us!

UPDATE: After some feedback from our members, we've decided to instead go with a Practice PvP format as opposed to house-based PvP, since we'd prefer turn-based combat to keep the matches more fair and balanced.

Rewards -

We have yet another one of my favorite bundles we're giving away this month: The Accursed Play Bundle! The gauntlet that comes with this bundle, The Playhouse, is ideal for farming in-game items such as Pigsie treasure cards, Sunion plants, Stun Resist jewels....and even permanent Dragon Wing mounts! The outfit is also a very nice stitch, as well as the somewhat creepy but unique face wand! The mount, pet and crowns are also pretty nice too. Second place gets the brand new Celestial Pantera mount, and Third will get the lovely and classic Care Hare mount! Each of the three winners will get a giant sum of crowns (as usual).

1st place: Accursed Play Bundle + 30,000 crowns

2nd place: Celestial Pantera mount (Perm) + 15,000 Crowns

3rd place: Care Hare mount (perm) + 10,000 crowns

Rules -

*Must create an account on this site to enter. Once registered, make the account public. More info here!

*Multiple entry submissions WILL BE disqualified. Only one entry/post is permitted per person.

*Only one of your wizards may enter the tournament, so choose wisely! Any entries attempting to enter more than one will be disqualified.

*Anyone caught attempting to use 2 wizards or more on separate accounts to increase their chances at winning or rig the battles in their favor within the tournament will be immediately disqualified and suspended from this site and our server. We don't tolerate cheating.

*If there is no screenshot WITH YOUR WIZARD'S NAME in your post below, your entry will not be valid. This is simply for security reasons to verify one's wizard for the tournament.

*If your wizard levels up and it's still within the level 130-140 range, you may edit your post to your current level. However, this cannot be done past the end date for the entry (see below).

*All PvP-legal gear is allowed, and it doesn't need to be mentioned within your entry as well.

*After much deliberation and consultation from our more veteran PvP members, we've decided to put a cap on how much resist one may use within the matches. You may not exceed more than 75% resist to one or more schools. This will, hopefully, prevent wizards from utilizing known cheap tactics to win a match, such as "Jading" or stalling in some form. We do appreciate defensive strategies, but we'd also like everyone to keep it fair and balanced for everyone without resorting to "setting" against an specific opponent.

*Speaking of "setting", this is also prohibited. You may not change your gear to suit a specific match past the announcement of your duel and sparring partner.

*While we welcome competitive spirit and friendly banter, we ask that everyone please keep the dialogue friendly as well, and respect your opponents and spectators enough to be kind to them. We're all aware that RNG (or luck) is a factor in each match to some extent, minor or major. But we ask that all participants remain calm and respectful throughout. Anyone that becomes vulgar, indecent or otherwise will be suspended from the tournament. This also applies to spectators and/or anyone else not participating as well.

*Any arguing back and forth with one of the staff members is not acceptable. We understand some may disagree with their opponent choice, but we will pair wizards up with others that are most similar to their level primarily, with everything else being secondary. The schools of each wizard isn't very relevant, but we will keep them in mind when pairing as well (For example: we'd be reluctant to pair 2 ice wizards together, as opposed to 1 ice wizard vs. 1 fire wizard).

*If you would like to spectate only, you may post that under this thread as well! This also requires a screenshot of the wizard's name in-game.

*We will wait in the Greyrose Realm in The Arena of the game for about 15 minutes before beginning the Tournament. If you think your computer may take a moment booting up the game, or experience lag, I would recommend having the game loaded prior to 6:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), or being in-game but AFK. Plan ahead of time!

*Strategize, wizards! Think of awesome cards to put in your decks and come up with techniques you think will win you the prizes! Be inventive and creative with it.

Timeframe -

*All entries must be submitted within this thread before February 27th at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Time. Winners will be announced on February 28th, on this site and across all the platforms we belong to, after the tournament concludes and the 3 duelists emerge victorious! Any entries posted after the event has ended will not count.

This may be our most ambitious Event yet! Pairing everyone up and getting to watch the different strategies come together will be a blast! I hope everyone who participates or spectates has a great time and a lot of fun. We're looking forward to seeing everyone who makes it to the tournament. But even if you can't make it, in the spirit of Valentine: we love you all, and appreciate your love regardless. Thank you for all of the beautifully written posts and wonderful screenshots you've shared with us this year and last year. If PvP isn't really your thing, don't worry, because we'll continue doing all types of events each month, so remember to check back from time to time! We hope to keep doing events that everyone and anyone can enjoy. :)
